About the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance

The Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, formerly BBTC, is Washington State's largest mountain bike club and advocacy organization; the website is EvergreenMTB.org.

Evergreen is a volunteer-powered, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing mountain biking trails. We focus on education, advocacy and recreation, in addition to believing in a philosophy and practice of building common ground and fostering a club culture that "gives back".

About Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance Trail Info Wiki

The Trail Info Wiki is an experiment. The idea is to produce the most complete and most up-to-date source of information about mountain biking in Washington. The information is provided by all of you, Washington mountain bikers. Anyone can help improve the information by editing any page. You do need to be logged in to edit pages, we do not allow anonymous edits.

  • Wiki background
If you aren't familiar with wikis and want to know (lots) more, read this article, but know that it'll give you lots of detail you won't necessarily need, and that a lot of the discussion is inspired by very large wiki websites like Wikipedia which have all kinds of interesting problems that we hope never to deal with!
  • Your contributions may be edited
Please understand that if you add information to the wiki, someone else may edit it or update it. That's the idea. If you disagree about what should be in the article, you can use the "discussion page" (also called "talk page") to exchange arguments.

Credits

This wiki was inspired by the wiki at The Steeps, which unfortunately seems to have disappeared.

Want your own?

If you want to build a similar site for your area, be our guest! Send an email to the webmaster if you need tips. (You can get more accurate information on what is installed by looking at Special:Version than you will by looking at this list here...)

We use these extensions to MediaWiki:

  • Google Maps
You'll need this to get the interactive maps (Duh.) We modified this extension a bit; contact us for source code.
  • Preloader
Used to clone boilerplate text when a new trail info page is created so they all start with the same basic sections. We modified this extension to insert lat/lon and the marker name from the database of trailhead markers.
  • AuthDrupal
We use the Drupal system as a sign-in front end.
  • New User Notification
This is totally optional, we just like to keep track of signups.
If you use it, be sure to set the account(s) that should receive the notification
    $wgNewUserNotifTargets = array('username');

These things help too:
